Structural Fiberglass Mesh

The Fibertex® structural fiberglass mesh for civil construction is produced from special yarns arranged in a weave pattern specifically designed for this purpose, through a development and improvement project, thanks to the use of an exclusive treatment; this product offers excellent protection against alkali attack and mold, and provides easy adhesion in the most diverse situations.

High breaking strength, very low elongation percentage and good dimensional stability under thermal variations (compared to metal mesh), low weight (1/4 of steel), does not conduct electricity, is not corrosive, magnetic transparency, providing excellent performance, great agility, high ease of application and malleability are the main properties of the Fibertex® structural fiberglass mesh.

Fiberglass products are very versatile. New uses are discovered every day, and the results always become great successes.

This is the case with the use of structural fiberglass meshes in civil construction. One example is the use of fiberglass mesh to support mosaics: before the introduction of fiberglass mesh, manufacturers did not have a structural element that, in addition to providing high strength, also offered ease and speed of application.

However, this is not the only use of structural fiberglass mesh in civil construction; there are several applications, among which we can highlight:

  • Marble backing;
  • Anchoring for mosaics;
  • Structural reinforcement of cement boards;
  • Structural reinforcement of drywall;
  • Mesh tape for wall crack repair;
  • Mesh tape for drywall board joints;
  • Structural reinforcement for concrete floors;
  • Laminated with resin;
  • Structural reinforcement for plaster;
  • Structural reinforcement for raised floors.

They can replace steel mesh in civil construction in the following applications:

  • In aggressive environments;
  • In the control of concrete joints and cracks;
  • In cement boards;
  • Reinforced mortar;
  • In drywall;
  • Replacement of steel mesh in the reinforcement of beams, columns and slabs in civil construction.
  • In precast construction;
  • In raft foundations;
  • Adds lightness to concrete structures;
  • Gains on the job site and operational agility;
  • Ease and lightness in transportation;

Benefits and Differentiators:

  • High breaking strength: Ensures durability and reliability in applications.
  • Low elongation: Maintains dimensional stability even under thermal variations, especially when compared to metal meshes.
  • Lightweight: Weighing approximately 1/4 as much as steel, it makes handling and application easier.
